The figures state that over 11,120 UK stores have closed. This figure is likely to be even higher as researchers didn't take into account stores which have yet to re-open following the first lockdown. The second UK lockdown is now upon us.

Statistics regarding the spread of the virus also suggest that the second lockdown is likely to last longer than the initially stated four week period as infection rates continue to climb with 'R' rating of 1.1 - 1.3, which will have further devastating impacts on the UK economy.
